Mustafa Ayar
Mustafa Ayar completed his schooling in Mannheim before studying economics education at the University of Mannheim, later switching to Islamic Studies (Arabistics/Ottoman Studies), Education and South Asian Political Science at Heidelberg University, where he earned his master’s degree.
He spent a year in Damascus to strengthen his Arabic and now teaches Ottoman Turkish at Sabah Ülkesi Culture & Art Association while serving within the IGMG.
Inspired early by his father’s love for history, he focused on political and intellectual history. Quotes from Prof. Dr. Mehmet Genç—‘We should learn history not to glorify ourselves, but to correct ourselves’—left a lasting impression.
Encouraged by Prof. Dr. Halil İnalcık’s archival work and Prof. Dr. Michael Ursinus’s research on the Ottoman Empire’s multicultural fabric, Ayar strives to foster an appreciation of Ottoman history and culture.
