This ebru portrays the tulip motif. In Turkish-Islamic culture the tulip is both an aesthetic emblem and a spiritual sign; in Arabic script the word lale is written with the same letters as Allah.
The tulip is shaped with fine brushes on the water surface, so the graceful design mirrors nature while alluding to humility and love. Within traditional marbling it often becomes one of the most elegant highlights.
