In the Holy Quran, oaths are made in verses that begin with the letter vav.
The letter vav is compared to the position of the fetus in the womb; because it represents unity (vahdaniyet), it symbolizes Allah's unity and uniqueness.
In an ancient saying (also transmitted as a hadith) it says: "Beware of the vavs." That is, beware of the obligations that the words beginning with vav signify: velayet (guardianship, governorship), vezaret (vizierate), vasiyet (testament), vekalet (power of attorney) and vedia (trust, deposit).
(Bursevi, Ruhu'l-beyan, Tafsir of Surah Isra, verse 1)
This is meant to say: "Do not be eager for some offices that begin with vav, be very careful, and if these tasks are entrusted to you, do them with even more care."
