Ney traditions
The ney, a reed flute with a history spanning over a millennium, occupies a central role in Mevlevi ceremonies and classical Ottoman music. Lessons cover breathing, fingering, makam theory and improvisation.
Course goals
Participants learn foundational melodies, ensemble work and the historical context of Sufi soundscapes—connecting musical practice with cultural understanding.
